Privacy policy

How we handle your information. Last updated 13 August 2026.

Homebody Cat Care looks after cats in their owners' homes. To do that we need some information about you, your cat and your house. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Homebody Cat Care of Witney, Oxfordshire is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@homebodycatcare.co.uk or on 07518 876 941.

What we collect

  • Contact details, your name, address, phone number and email address.
  • Booking details, your travel dates, the number of visits you want, and your emergency contact.
  • Information about your cat, name, age, routine, feeding instructions, medication, temperament, and your vet's details.
  • Information about your home, access arrangements, alarm codes, and anything else needed to get in and look after the place safely.
  • Photographs taken during visits, sent to you as part of the Visit Note.
  • Payment records, invoices and bank transfer references. We never see or store your card details.

Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

Most of it is processed to perform our contract with you, we cannot feed your cat without knowing where she lives and what she eats. Alarm codes and access details are processed on the same basis.

We keep basic records of past bookings under our legitimate interests, so that returning customers do not have to explain everything again, and to meet our obligations to our insurer.

We keep invoices for six years because HMRC requires it.

We only send marketing if you have asked us to, and you can stop it at any time by replying and saying so.

Who else sees it

  • HubSpot, the enquiry form on this website is provided by HubSpot, and anything you type into it is stored on their systems as our processor.
  • Vercel, this website is hosted by Vercel, who process standard server request data.
  • Your vet, only if your cat needs treatment while you are away.
  • Anyone you nominate, for example a partner or neighbour you have asked us to copy in on Visit Notes.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Keys and access details

Keys are stored securely and are never labelled with your name or your address. Alarm codes and access notes are kept separately from your address. When a booking ends we either return your keys or, if you have asked us to hold them for next time, we confirm that arrangement with you in writing.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not become bookings: 12 months.
  • Customer and cat records: for as long as you are a customer, and 24 months after your last booking.
  • Access codes and key details: deleted when you tell us you no longer want us to hold your keys.
  • Invoices and accounting records: 6 years, as required by HMRC.
  • Visit Note photographs: 90 days, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Photographs of your cat

Photographs taken during visits are sent to you and are not used anywhere else. If we would ever like to use one on this website or on social media, we will ask you first, every time, and a no is a perfectly good answer that will not affect your booking.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising cookies and does no cross-site tracking. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a third party. The HubSpot form on our contact page sets its own cookies when it loads, which is what allows it to remember a part-completed submission.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we are using it, or ask us to restrict what we do with it. Email hello@homebodycatcare.co.uk and we will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material here we will update the date at the top of this page. Our terms of service cover the rest of the arrangement between us.
