Terms of service
The arrangement between us, in plain English. Last updated 13 August 2026.
These terms apply when Homebody Cat Care looks after your cat. We have tried to write them the way we would explain them on your doorstep, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
1. Booking
- A booking is confirmed when we have agreed your dates in writing, a text or an email is fine.
- Before your first booking we will visit to collect keys and take your instructions. There is no charge for that visit and no obligation to proceed after it.
- You confirm that the information you give us about your cat, your home and your vet is accurate and complete, including any history of aggression, illness or escape.
2. Prices and payment
- £13 per day for one visit, £24 per day for two, covering up to 3 cats.
- Additional cats are £2 per cat per day.
- Visits on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Easter Sunday are charged at one and a half times the standard rate. All other bank holidays are charged at the standard rate.
- There is no travel supplement anywhere within our published service area.
- Payment is due in full before your first visit. Once your dates are confirmed we will send you an invoice, and we ask for it to be settled by bank transfer before you travel.
- If your trip is extended, we will invoice for the additional visits separately once you are home. If you return early, we will refund the days we did not use.
3. Cancellation
- More than seven days before the first visit: refunded in full.
- Within seven days: 50% of the booking total is refunded.
- On the day the booking starts, or later: we are not able to offer a refund.
- If we have to cancel, through illness, weather or something else unavoidable, you are refunded in full and we will do everything we reasonably can to help you find cover.
4. Visits
- Visits last around thirty minutes and take place morning and/or evening. We keep as close to your cat's usual mealtimes as the round allows, but we cannot guarantee exact times.
- If your trip is extended, tell us and we will add visits at the standard daily rate wherever we can. If you return early, tell us and we will remove the unused days from your invoice.
- We will not force a frightened cat out of hiding. If we have not seen your cat across several consecutive visits we will contact you.
5. Keys and access
- Keys are stored securely and are never labelled with your name or address.
- At the end of a booking we return your keys, or hold them for future bookings if you ask us to. Either way we confirm it in writing.
- You must tell us about alarms, security cameras inside the property, and anyone else who has access and may enter while we are engaged.
- If we cannot get in through no fault of our own, we will contact you immediately. That visit is not refundable.
6. Veterinary care
- If your cat appears unwell or injured we will contact you first, then your emergency contact.
- If we cannot reach either of you and we believe your cat needs urgent attention, we will take her to the vet you have nominated, using the written authority you gave us before you travelled.
- All veterinary fees remain your responsibility. Please check that your pet insurance covers treatment authorised by a carer.
7. Insurance and liability
- We hold public liability insurance covering the care of animals in clients' homes, and we will show you the certificate on request.
- We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, for illness or injury that occurs without negligence on our part, or for the behaviour of a cat with free outdoor access.
- We are not liable for damage caused by your cat, for pre-existing faults in your property, or for failures of utilities, appliances or alarm systems.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Service area
We cover Witney and approximately 8 miles around it, across West Oxfordshire. Bookings outside that area are at our discretion and will be agreed with you in advance.
9. Photographs
Photographs taken during visits are sent to you as part of the Visit Note. We will not publish any photograph of your cat or your home without asking you first.
10. Complaints and governing law
If something goes wrong, tell us, 07518 876 941 or hello@homebodycatcare.co.uk. We would much rather hear about it and fix it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy.
